據(jù)俄新社9月7日報道，俄羅斯總統(tǒng)普京在遠東經(jīng)濟論壇的全體會議上發(fā)言表示，俄政府有意使遠東成為全球最重要的物流樞紐。

普京表示：“為了企業(yè)可將自己的產(chǎn)品在亞太地區(qū)和歐洲及其他地區(qū)間快速且廉價地運輸，遠東地區(qū)正在建設(shè)新的運輸通道，提高港口的吞吐能力。俄方正具體研究興建一條連接薩哈林島的鐵路。”
